The Validator Initiation: A Guide to Initia’s Incentivized Testnet for Validators
This document is a guide for validators who are willing to participate in Initia’s Public Testnet.
Dear Validators,
Phase 1 of the initiation-1 validator program has begun! In order to filter out spam and bot submissions, we are requiring all validators to fill out this form: https://forms.gle/HqLFePaka2NLmzY98
Only entities who filled out the form properly will receive points. Make sure to submit matching Moniker, validator website domain, and public validator node RPC endpoint so that we can track inactive validator performance.

Greetings, Validator Initiates!
We are excited to announce that Initia’s Incentivized Testnet, initiation-1, is now live!
For Testnet, we are looking for validators who deeply understand their role in safeguarding Initia and are ready to actively grow and participate in our community. Thus, we are running an incentivized program during Public Testnet to help select validators who earn their place in Initia’s Genesis Validator Set come mainnet launch.
The Initiation Validator Program is a set of objective and subjective tasks that validators can participate in to get ready, educate themselves, and grow Initia before Mainnet.
The Initiation Validator Program is composed of 5 phases over the course of 8 weeks. Each phase will require validators to contribute in different ways and they will be scored based on completion of tasks and how well they are performed.
Each phase for the Validator Program will be as below:
- [Week 1] Pre-Phase
Preparation for the Initiation. Set up a validator node! - [Week 2] Phase 1
Complete all the designated validator tasks such as maintaining uptime and submitting oracle prices. - [Week 3–4] Phase 2
Complete all the designated validator tasks which includes further activities such as voting for governance proposals, staking, etc. - [Week 5–7] Phase 3
Complete all the designated the validator tasks and claim the rewards for staking to other validators in Phase 2. - [Week 8] Post-Phase
We’re done! Write up articles, tweets, and blog posts about your experience during the testnet.
These are the three criteria that we are looking for: Technical, Social, and Functional.
- Technical: Every necessary thing that validators should do, such as maintaining uptime, submitting oracle prices, etc.
- Social: Community engagement is as crucial! We are looking for articles about Initia, technical deep dives into the code you’ll have access to, your experiences setting up a node, tweeting and retweeting Initia posts, creating video guides, and joining us on Twitter Spaces and AMAs!
- Functional: A huge bonus point category. Aside from validating, provide tangible help that will benefit both the users and the platform. Examples include but are not limited to: running dashboards, valuable contributions to the codebase (not typos), tools that would assist application teams, or providing public goods. Be creative!
Functional tasks will be evaluated during post-phase. We will distribute a Google Form to collect submissions, so for teams who want to submit their work to claim bonus points, make sure to keep record of all your work!
