Hi, it’s Takuya from Japan. I’m building a Markdown note-taking app called Inkdrop alone. As a solo developer, I make content to attract potential customers. In December 2018, I started publishing videos on YouTube with zero video editing background, then I’ve recently hit 11k subscribers🎉 It took about two and half years. Thank you so much for all your support. My channel now sends people to my app’s website, which is great. It is about to become my main marketing channel.
I’d like to share my journey to accomplish the first 10K subscribers in this article. …
Since I started my tech YouTube channel, I’ve been always thinking of how to improve the video quality. Speaking of the keyboard, I’ve been using Keychron K2 (Brown switch). While I love the design, its typing sound is kind of loud and I don’t like it. Some people complained about it in the comment section of the past videos, like “You destroyed my ears” (lol). Last year, Keychron has released Keychron K2 V2 with a hot-swappable option. That was great news because you can change the switches as you like without desoldering. I found that there is a technique to…
UPDATE: I’m back!
Hi Inkdroppers, it’s Takuya. Just a few weeks ago, Inkdrop now supports Apple Silicon and it runs blazingly fast on M1 Macs. I hope you are enjoying it. Inkdrop is doing great and I can see it is making a very stable income. It keeps gradually growing, so I can stay focus on the ‘niche’ core features instead of shiny new features. I’m planning to work on the mobile version next. There will be a lot of improvements coming this year as I wrote in the current roadmap.
Hi, it’s Takuya. I use Neovim to develop my app called Inkdrop. Recently, I’ve got some updates for my Neovim setup since I’ve published last year. Neovim 0.5, which is nightly at the moment, comes with cool new improvements like Lua remote plugin host, built-in LSP client (yes!), and Treesitter syntax engine. I found there are already a bunch of great plugins that leverage those new nightly features. I tried them, and already love them! Besides, it works pretty well on my M1 MacBook Air, which is awesome. I’d like to introduce my latest setup with Neovim 0.5 and modern…
Hi, it’s Takuya. In the last release, Inkdrop, a Markdown-based note-taking app, bumped up the Electron from 7 to 12, which allows me to support Apple Silicon. And I’m excited to announce that it’s now available. Not only just supporting the M1 chip, but it also comes with V8 snapshots, which boosts its launch speed much more. I vlogged about this improvement, so let me show you how fast it is:
Yes, it’s blazingly fast like native apps! If you have an M1-powered Mac, please download the
Arm64 build (not
x86_64) of the Inkdrop app here:
Hi, it’s Takuya from Japan.
Having a low-friction payment flow is crucial for your business. I’m running a SaaS app called Inkdrop, which is a subscription-based service. I use Stripe to accept payments with credit cards around the world. Recently, I’ve got an email from Stripe that users can’t renew their subscriptions under RBI regulations in India if your website doesn’t support 3D secure:
That’s going to affect my service since I have customers from India. So, I decided to support 3D secure authentication on my website.
Hi, it’s Takuya. I have an M1 MacBook Air and have been waiting for Android Studio to support M1 macs so that I can use it for developing my React Native project. It’s been about a half year since an Android Emulator developer tweeted that he managed to run it:
It had a performance issue though, I heard that the recent Android Studio Preview has supported M1 chips pretty well. So I tried it.
I’ve got several issues to make it work, but thanks to Yacine, I managed to solve them. …
Hi, it’s Takuya.
Knowing the air quality is useful to keep yourself productive because the bad air quality would affect your brain performance more than you’d think. So, I built a room air quality monitor that displays the temperature, humidity, CO2 density, and barometric pressure of my home office. It notifies with sound when the CO2 level gets more than 1,000 ppm so I can know when to refresh the air. I’m gonna show you a walkthrough of how to build it.
Hi, it’s Takuya here. I’m excited to announce that Inkdrop v5.3.0 is out! It comes with a bunch of improvements to its core features, which would significantly help your workflow. Let me explain what’s new in this version.
