We Created Inkit to Make It Easier for Every Business to Send Direct Mail
I want to tell you a little bit about Inkit and why we created it.
You see, we’re a small company. And we know a lot of other small companies can’t afford to send direct mail to their customers. It’s really frustrating to all of us.
“Why direct mail?” I hear you ask. “Isn’t that a bit old-fashioned?”
I know. A lot of people think direct mail is dying. But it’s not. Here’s why:
- Companies spent $46 billion on direct mail in 2014.
- Direct mail still has a return on investment of 34% for customer acquisition.
- 79% of consumers act on direct mail offers right away.
Now that you know those statistics, you can see why you need to have direct mail as part of your marketing plan.
But right now, direct mail is inaccessible for a lot of smaller companies. It’s expensive, and you need a huge mailing list to make it cost-effective. Which doesn’t seem fair. Small businesses make up 54% of all sales in the U.S. It should be easier for you to promote your small business.
We get it. Being a small business owner is tough. Especially when you’re fighting against huge corporations for customers and income. You have to use every advantage you can find. And it’s frustrating when there are tools you want to use, that are just out of reach.
At Inkit, we’ve made it our mission to make it easier, faster and less expensive for companies of all sizes to send direct mail campaigns.
How Direct Mail Currently Works
Right now, most major direct mail printers require you to have a minimum order of 10,000 identical pieces per campaign. If your mailing list is smaller than that, you’re out of luck. And there’s no way to split test that order with different pictures or offers.
If you have a large enough list, and you can afford the per-piece rate these companies charge, you still have to pay set-up fees. You have to work with their designer and copywriter to get your postcard created. You spend way too much time going back and forth with your account representative until everything looks right.
It can take more than a week just to get your postcard ready to print!
Then, your project is sent to the back of the printing queue. Depending on how many other orders are in front of yours, it could take up to two weeks to print and deliver your order to the post office.
Finally, another 4 to 10 days later, your postcard reaches your customers’ mailboxes.
This whole process will usually take between 3–4 weeks, when things are running smoothly. If they’re not, it can take a lot longer.
Meanwhile, you’re waiting for new customers to walk in your door or check out your website. More importantly, you’re not making money from that direct mail campaign you’re waiting to have delivered to your customers.
That’s bad for your business. You need a system that lets you design your postcard and get it in the mail, fast. That way, your postcard is reaching mailboxes within a few days, instead of weeks. And you’re getting customers much faster, which helps increase your bottom line.
Leveling the Playing Field
Now you know why we created the Inkit platform to help businesses everywhere speed up their direct mail campaigns. To help you get your direct mail postcards into your potential customers’ mailboxes, faster, easier, and at a much lower cost.
With our unique system, you can:
- Design your postcard in our Drag-and-Drop builder.
- Upload your mailing list to our secure database.
- Hit “Send”
And you’re done. It’s that simple.
As soon as you hit “Send”:
- Your list of addresses is verified for proper delivery.
- Your print job is sent to one of our printers where it’s printed and mailed on-demand, that same day if the order is placed before 3 pm EST.
- Your postcard arrives in your customers’ mailboxes 3–7 days later, depending on the type of mail delivery you choose.
Your customers have your postcard in their hands within days, instead of weeks. Meanwhile, you’re paying as little as 50 cents per piece for a professionally printed postcard. All of this adds up to a huge savings of time, money and effort for your company.
We’re pretty excited about the whole thing. We can’t wait to see how you use Inkit to grow your business.
