Another point many forget is 30% of users have some degree of motion sensitivity or cognitive issues, and motion can cause these users to either lose an entire day to bed or any other reaction. Best practice is to keep an animation small, simple, attached to a control, and only triggered when the control is activated. The accessibility issue with motion is so often neglected, as many think accessibility only equates to screenreaders.
