  1. Princess Hours (2006)
Starring: Song Ji-hyo, Ju Ji-hoon, Yoon Eun-hye, Kim Jeong-hoon

Based on Manwha: Goong by Park So-hee.

Synopsis:

The series focus on the lives of Crown Prince of Korea, Lee Shin. Prince Shin was in love with the ambitious and talented ballerina Hyo-rin (whom he initially proposed to and was rejected), that made him eventually marries a commoner to whom he was betrothed by his grandfather, the late Emperor Seongjo, in an agreement with the girl’s grandfather. His new wife is the headstrong yet lovable Chae-kyeong, and despite initially feeling nothing for each other, love eventually blossoms between the couple.

2. Boys Over Flowers (2009)

Starring: Kim Joon, Kim Bum, Lee Min-Ho, Goo Hye-sun, Kim Hyun-joong

Based on Manga series: Hana Yori dango by Yoko Kamio.

Synopsis:

Set at a famous high school for the super-wealthy people. This drama is a puppy love story centered on a poor girl and the F4 gang of rich kids headed by the rough and fearless Goo Jun-pyo.

3. Master of Study (2010)

Starring: Yoo Seung-ho, Go Ah-sung, Park Ji-yeon, Lee Hyun-woo, Lee Can-ho, Kim Su-ro

Based on Manga series: Dragon Zakura by Norifusa Mita.

Synopsis:

Kang Seok-ho is an ordinary lawyer and former bike gang member. He then takes a position to revive a third rate high school named “Byeong-Mun High School”. To revive the school, Kang Seok-ho needs his students to become accepted into prestigious universities.

4. Playful Kiss (2010)

Starring: Jung So-min, Kim Hyun-joong

Based on Manga: Itazura na Kiss by Tada Kaoru.

Synopsis:

Oh Ha-ni is a ditsy, unpopular, and in love with her opposite, Baek Seung-jo, who is smart and popular boy. Tension rises when Oh Ha-ni writes and delivers her love letter to Baek Seung-jo to which he gives back. Along the way, Ha-ni becomes tired of Seung-jo’s cold and uncaring attitude. Bong Joon-gu, who has been liking Ha-ni for a long time, began chasing for her affection and ultimately, her hand for marriage.

5. Dream High (2011)

Starring: Ham Eun-jung, Ok Taec-yeon, Bae Suzy, Kim Soo-hyun, IU, Jang Woo-young

Synopsis:

Six students at Kirin High School share dreams of becoming K-pop idols, among others. During their school years, they learn how to develop their singing, songwriting and dancing skills while undergoing personal growth. They also start to develop feelings for one another. Each of them has their own strengths and weaknesses, but they strive to debut with the support and guidance of one another.

6. School 2013 (2013)

Starring: Jang Nara, Choi Daniel, Lee Jong-suk, Kim Woo-bin, Park Se-young

Synopsis:

Jung In-jae and Kang Sae-chan are homeroom teachers whose philosophies are apparently at odds. Together, they manage Victory High’s toughest class; facing bullies, academic underachievers, and demanding parents, as they help the students overcome their problems.

7. Who Are You: School 2015 (2015)

Starring: Yook Sung-jae, Kim So-hyun, Nam Joo-hyuk

Synopsis:

Go Eun-byul and Lee Eun-bi are identical twins, separated after one is adopted at the age of five. However, it’s only Eun-byul is aware of the other’s existence. Unlike the cheerful Eun-bi, Eun-byul is prickly and secretive.

8. Cheer Up! (2015)

Starring: Jung Eun-ji, Lee Won-keun, Ji Soo, Cha Hak-yeon, Chae Soo-bin

Synopsis:

Set at the elite Sevit High School in Seoul, the drama follows the lives of five students as they attempt to survive in a vicious environment where academic elitism takes place. Kang Yeon-doo is the leader of outcast street dance club “Real King”, a group of students who band together because of their poor academic performance, whereas Kim Yeol is the President of “Baek Ho”, an elite club composed of students from the top 5 percent. Cheer Up! is a story that aims at ordinary high school students’ misadventures including love, heartbreak, pain and friendship.

9. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo (2016)

Starring: Lee Sung-kyung, Nam Joo-hyuk

Synopsis:

Kim Bok-joo is a promising collegiate female weightlifter. Meanwhile, Jung Joon-hyung is a collegiate swimmer plagued with numerous false start disqualifications. A coming-of-age story who are fighting for their dreams, experiencing and finding love in the process, and growing every step of the way.

10. Extraordinary You (2019)

Starring: Kim Hye-yoon, Rowoon, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Na-eun

Based on Webtoon: July Found by Chance by Moo Ryuyee.

Synopsis:

The series follows high school girl Eun Dan-oh who is a student at a prestigious academy. One day, by chance, she discovers that the world she lives in is a fantasy world of comics. She and everyone else are merely characters in a comic book entitled Secret. Dan-oh is only an extra character and, worse, the Writer gave her a lame set-up: she is engaged to her long-time crush who despises her, and she has a heart disease and is expected to die soon. Not satisfied with this fate, Dan-oh decides to forge her own destiny by changing the story’s plot and finding her own true love.
