Seattle — otherwise known as the birthplace of Starbucks or the home of a giant space needle.
But is the city really worth visiting?
Thankfully, Airbnb has offered a bunch of data for us to find out.
When is the best time of year to visit Seattle on a budget?
One of the first questions any traveler needs to think about is the cost of their adventure. So it is important to find out the rough price to stay the night.
If we look at the most common price for each month for the listings in Seattle we can see that the most expensive time of year to visit is July when you could pay around $115 a night.
But if you are on a tighter budget then January is your best bet — a $16 difference. Whether you visit in the height of summer or the chill of winter, Seattle has plenty to explore.
Is there any connection between reviews and the price?
Once you’ve picked a time of year to visit you might want to be selective on where you stay. Cleanliness, friendly staff and location are all important things to consider when picking an Airbnb listing. One thing you can check is the comments. But here’s a question: Do more comments mean a more pricey place?
When looking into the relationship between a listing’s average price for a year and the quantity of comments there actually seemed very little connection. There could be a hundred different reasons why listings are priced the way they are but the number of comments isn’t a compelling one.

What's the most popular neighborhood in Seattle?
The number of comments can also be useful to gauge how popular a neighborhood is. If we assume the more comments on a listing the more popular it is. By counting them we can see that the most popular neighborhood is Capitol Hill with Fairmount Park being the least popular.

Summary
For Seattle, nothing could be more iconic that having a Starbucks in the space needle so if you fancy a budget getaway head to Capitol Hill in January to experience $99 a night stay. Sounds like a plan to me!
