The vapor mist
Flowing through my nose
Smelling like
Strawberries and ice
Feeling like
Time passes
And stops
All at once

1:58 AM it reads
My body shuts down
But my mind
Lays awake
Two minds
One, should I
Let you know
I exist?
Two, lay here
In silent
Admiration

You are
Everything
And all I
Never needed
Two-ton baggage
And scars
But
Don't you see honey
How the gashes
Align with mine
These metaphors
And fever dreams
Pastel-colored
And breathless

My crooked teeth
Line up
With your
Forced smile
More than you'll know
Let me
Pick apart
All you know is yours

I will
Allow
My measured, bated breath
This chest
Rises and falls
To your
Tired heartbeat

This weary hour
Pour a drink
And match you
Shot for shot
Secret by secret
I wish I could

I am
Not like that
The chiseled jaw
Stardust eyes
Or wandering hands
I have none.

1:58 AM, it reads
Am I
Allowed to stay
Or, maybe
I should just leave?

I string words together. Sometimes they make sense.
