From 'Global Policeman' to Global Thief
The USA is sending armored vehicles to Syria to protect oilfields
The United States of America will send armored vehicles and fighting units to eastern Syria in order to guarantee that the oilfields don’t fall into the hands of armed ISIS groups, said the US Foreign Minister, Mark Esper.

His statement, which he made in the NATO conference in Brussels, shows that the withdrawal of the US troops is much more complicated than how the American president was presenting it. Even though Trump announced the withdrawal, the reality on the ground looks different.
These extra troops will consist of armored vehicles, tanks and other military vehicles.

It is mentioned that this reinforcement will take the military presence of the US troops to the next level, because previous troops simply consisted of special forces which weren’t equipped with tanks or any other armored vehicles.
Neither according to international rights nor the American law itself, is there any legitimacy for the American soldiers to protect the energy sources of Syria from Syria itself and their people. Therefore, what Washington is doing now - occupying the oilfields of east Syria and holding it under their armed control- is an International robbery, mentioned in a press release of the Russian military.

According to Esper, it is not permissible to let ISIS come close to the oilfields. If ISIS had access to the resources they would have gained the possibility to gather weapons, recruit new soldiers and regroup once more. Therefore, suppressing ISIS would prove to be much more difficult, reasoned Esper.
Russian satellite pictures are assuming to prove that the oil is brought by oil tankers outside of Syria, under the strict control of the US troops. Private military companies are also involved. Chief spokesman for the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Igor Konashenkov is also pointing out that the USA is bypassing their own sanctions that no oil production is to be carried out in Syria, even for the Syrian Government itself.
