A mountain as towering as Japan's Mount Fuji at 12,400 feet would not even break the surface. Temperatures regularly fall below minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit with winds of up to 200 miles an hour.
During its peak season, it is home to only four thousand scientists and military personnel.

Although discovered nearly 250 years ago, we have more questions than answers about this frozen continent due to the sheer depth of the ice covering its land mass.
The surface of Antarctica is unable to be seen with the naked eye, and some propose that there is far more human and perhaps non-human activity happening than we've been told.
Something mysterious seems to be going on at this continent at the South Pole. Some theorists suggest that Antarctica might be some kind of alien base. Rumors of extraterrestrial activity have circulated for years, and there are accounts claiming an extraterrestrial presence in Antarctica today.
In July 2018, Linda Moulton Howe interviewed a whistleblower who, under the condition of anonymity, provided classified information regarding Antarctica. The source, a retired Navy SEAL identified as Spartan one, shared details of an ancient structure he claims to have visited during his time at the South Pole.
The retired Navy SEAL said;
At that time my rank was first lieutenant commander Naval Special Operations we were inbound the Southeast coast of Antarctica we were dispatched for unofficially was a research reconnaissance mission officially it was to find a certain individual obtaining any information and bring it back…. August 2003.
According to Spartan one, when he and his team reached their destination, they encountered a large octagonal structure protruding from the ice. Cautiously, they proceeded to enter it. According to spartan 1, At the very top of the first structure they entered, almost 18 feet poked from the ice, with the rest hidden beneath.
Each door was consistent, ranging from 18 feet thick to around 30 feet. Surprisingly, despite their thickness and weight, these doors could be opened with minimal effort—a single finger push, and they would open without any resistance.
Facing an outside temperature of at least 40 degrees below zero, stepping inside revealed a stark contrast. The interior maintained an ambient temperature of 68 to 72 degrees.
The mystery deepened as they explored the interiors—ceilings, hallways, and floors were all aglow in a lime green light, yet the source remained elusive.
The walls were lined with what Spartan one described as hieroglyphics, although unlike any he had ever seen before. This raises the question: could there truly be mysterious structures buried at the South Pole? Were they constructed by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization in our remote past?
Buried underneath the vice in Antarctica could well be Stone Temple constructions there could be biological material remains of beings that lived there and could still be there it could be the greatest reveal in all of human history.
