Being a global citizen is about giving back to your community and the planet by reducing your footprint, recycling, helping others and striving to make a difference. There is a significant trend in the general public being more ethical in their decisions and spending habits and people aiming to be better global citizens. This is important as there is strong evidence that the planet cant sustain the rate of consumption and growth from people and countries.

Sensible sustainability and being a stronger global citizen as individuals and communities is critical.

Mapping out different aspects of your global citizenship efforts and initiatives has multiple benefits, it is action, it feels good to be helping and making a difference, and it can inspire others.

We have used this tool with schools and universities as well as in our local communities to get people to think how they can make a difference.

Consider some of the following topics

The big issues facing society now (homelessness, population growth, plastic pollution)

The Environment (global warming, plastics, extinction of species, conservation,)

Volunteering (helping sports clubs, charities and other organisations)

Global Issues (war, famine, global warming, Corona Virus)

Charity (cancer charities, hospices, youth charities and so on)

Giving back (time, resources, money)

Other elements you think of or read about

Understanding the facts around big issues is important and being a force for positive change can help others around you
