I sort of stepped into the area of data science when I began pursuing the possibility of converting my graphic design and web development knowledge into a specialty focusing on data visualization. I realize that some foundation in data science is necessary (and I have been working to familiarize myself with python, pandas and jupyter notebooks) but it’s the visualization aspect that intrigues me the most. Playing around with D3.js, for example, is a lot of fun. So, the question I’m trying to answer is can I focus on data visualization, and what would the recommended learning path look like?
