Intella X, an innovative Web3 gaming platform that strives to act as a gateway between Web2 and Web3, emphasizes the importance of mitigating the challenges that make mass adoption of Web3 difficult to achieve. In order for Web2 game developers and gamers to adopt Web3, certain critical hurdles must be tackled. In this article, we’re going to take a look at what one of those hurdles is and how Intella X intends to provide a solution to it.

One of the major blockers that prevent the mass adoption of Web3 is gas. While existing Web3 users are well-accustomed to it, having to pay gas fees is still a challenge to new users as it requires them to take extra, often laborious steps before they can use the intended service.

Similar to a vehicle requiring fuel to run, gas fees are needed to process transactions on the blockchain. Gas fees, also commonly known as transaction fees, are fees paid to miners or validators that validate and process on-chain data, and are paid in a given blockchain network’s native currency — ETH if the transaction is on Ethereum and MATIC if it’s on Polygon, for example. This means that one way or another, the network’s native currency must be in the wallet in order to make blockchain transactions.

It is highly unlikely that Web2 users, who have no knowledge of gas fees, already possess the blockchain’s native currency in their wallets when they first interact with Web3 services. They will have to educate themselves on how to buy native currencies on a centralized exchange before being able to use a dApp. This greatly interferes with user experience and, in turn, hinders mass adoption.

Intella X supports meta transactions to mitigate the above issue. In a normal blockchain transaction, the “sender” (the user that initializes a transaction) is coupled as the “gas payer,” meaning that the user who requests a transaction to be processed is also responsible for paying the associated gas fees.

Meta transactions essentially differentiate senders and gas payers, and make it possible for users to pay gas fees in assets that aren’t native currencies. Intella X has incorporated the technology so that in a meta transaction initiated via the Intella X platform, Intella X acts as an intermediary that accepts non-native currencies from users and pays gas fees in native currencies. Users will have the option to pay gas fees in the native currency or a different digital asset.

In short, this allows Intella X users to send transactions and interact with applications with various tokens in addition to the native blockchain currency. The implementation of this feature is aimed at removing the limitations of the existing blockchain transaction model to improve user experience and significantly lower the onboarding challenges of Web2 users.

Blockchain technology is evolving rapidly to meet the market’s needs to facilitate Web2 user onboarding. Likewise, Intella X will continuously adapt to the industry’s changes and develop better ways to encourage the mass adoption of Web3 gaming.
