Your perspective, your life, YOUR VERSION OF NORMAL

Steve Jobs once said “When you grow up you tend to get told the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money.

That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is — everything around you that you call life, was made up by people who were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.”

I have always loved that quote mainly because it supported this question about life that I have always had…what the fuck is normal anyway? Who decided that this one thing is normal and the standard in which all human beings should compare?

In my opinion some person that decided that this is how a human being should behave, look, feel, etc just had a bigger platform than the person next to him that had a completely different idea of how a human being should behave, look, feel, etc. The first person was just able to reach a bigger audience and probably had a real finesse in how to convince them that this is how you are supposed to be.

Next thing you know we have a world of people thinking they are not good enough because they do not fit into this box called “normal”. It’s like expecting a goldfish to climb a tree. I am not going to condemn a goldfish for…
