A Tutorial: How to put pictures on Trello pt. 1

In case you haven’t heard, this seemingly new app called Trello is blowing up in the tech world. From what I can tell, it appears to be an image hosting site to share your favorite pictures with your Agile teammates. It also features some neat cards to annotate your favorite moments and separated “lists” to help organize them as well. In this post, I will detail my journey of putting pictures on “the Trello”.

First, you are going to need to visit the Trello website in order to sign up. On the registration page it will ask you to sign up with one of those ‘electronic mails’ I’ve heard so much about. So it looks like you’re going to have to obtain an email account beforehand. So I used my favorite search engine, Bing, to look for an appropriate email provider.

At first I tried out a provider called Gmail, but it was much too complicated. I decided to go with a personal favorite for all of my other online tasks, AOL.com. Their website appeared very ‘Web 2.0’ so I attempted to create an account but their registration process was difficult to navigate.

I spent all night studying for the CAPTCHA test to no avail. After 3 hours with AOL customer support, I finally had my email created and was ready to get started.

Now that I had an email, I still needed to obtain a picture to put on the Trello. I still don’t know how to download images off of my browser so I needed a camera to obtain these pictures. So, I browsed Amazon and found the following camera.

I had to take out a high-interest loan to pay for it, but once I learn how to put pictures on the Trello, the return on investment will make this purchase a pittance.

Now that I have pictures, it’s time to put them on the Trello. After cycling through every element of the page for several hours now, I have yet to find where I can post my pictures. I have spent the past 6 hours frustrated, crying, questioning my own existence, angered, and I even suffered a panic attack (…if only there was an app to help me keep my repose).

After attempting to tackle this Sisyphean task, I figure I will finish writing on how to put pictures on the Trello in a follow-up tutorial.
