Interesting that you observed that. One obvious reason could be that I’ve been studying digital experience design at Hyper Island, so I have digital at the front of my mind.
That said — I think all of these principles certainly apply to analog services. “Map shock” could apply to printed graphics. The planetarium example I gave is a good IRL example of “failing fabulously.” Minimum viable initiative definitely applies to the analog world, even though the examples I gave are digital (I’m thinking about the difference between asking someone to stand in a queue versus carrying a remote buzzer, or going to a retail shop to repair an item versus getting a prepaid box in the mail). And strategic scrappiness applies to all areas of life, of course ;)
