The worst money mistake I made in the name of love was to sign a one year lease on an apartment (solely in my name) that was more than I could afford on my own before promptly moving in with my then boo. Two months later, he turned into my ex-boo and moved out, took all of the furniture (think sofa, love seat, dining room table), and I lived for 10 months with a card table, two chairs, and a twin bed. I think the rent was about $800.00 a month, but I somehow managed to pay out the rest of the lease making something like $13.25 per hour. I was fresh out of college and it was my first adult decision. I wouldn’t say I have no regrets, but I would say I learned my lesson about shared finances and relatively new relationships.
