Well, I’m back. Forgot to mention this, but I won’t be working on Thursday nights or most Wednesday nights (this week was an exception). Anyway, as for things I did today, once again, I ended up working on something that derailed me from my original intention. I was originally intended to complete the intro sequence, where the terminal window would slide over to the side, followed by the assembly instructions being highlighted one at a time as they are being analyzed in the side panel. In the process, I was aiming to integrate React Slingshot, but it turned out to be significantly more complicated than I expected. Look at this beast of a directory structure:

How people manage their directory nowadays

And if you look closely, you’ll notice something bizarre: no HTML files! Are you kidding me?? The one thing I thought was for sure gonna remain constant throughout web development is just gone. Apparently it’s generated by either webpack or one of these packages on server side (I think?) before getting sent over. But that could be completely wrong, since I haven’t really looked into it much. Anyway, I transitioned the project over to there. For the most part. I still haven’t figured out how routing works, so the only page you can navigate to is the intro sequence page, which probably won’t be an issue for now, with the exception of maybe briefly blocking Peter’s testing.

So yeah, tasks for tomorrow are to reconvene with Peter to finally establish which op codes to implement to allow him to get going on that and to finally get that animation complete. Also, as Peter said, I’m also gonna be getting back to my blog in addition to this one. I’ve blogged previously, though the contents of my recent posts is pretty different from the technical matter I posted on last year. Seeing as I’ve become really interested in computer vision (and probably am gonna concentrate on that going forward), I’m probably gonna push the recent “book posts” aside in favor of something relating to CV. There are other blogs on CV (like pyimagesearch), but that’s fine: this’ll be insightful for both me and hopefully offer another perspective on materials for readers. Also, I can finally bust out that Kinect that’s lying around in my closet. If only I could think of a project idea…
