FEED Your Followers — An investFeed Use Case
One of the problems that investFeed is proactively addressing is the fact that there is not only a lack of a dedicated network for cryptocurrency enthusiasts and professionals globally in the blockchain industry, but also that the reward opportunities for active contributors are weak. As larger social networking platforms charge a premium for corporate ad placements, the individual content creators get left behind amidst a sea of big-budget spending. Even an individual with a growing base that has contributed to the canon of crypto and is consistently spreading knowledge lacks the same leverage rewarded to the bigger businesses that saturate networks.
At investFeed we instead wish to turn towards democratic means and equally reward any creator, big or small, that adds value to the network. We encourage the creation of content — regardless of origin — that benefits the entire cryptocurrency community.
This is why we’ve created the FEED token — to reward and incentivize professionals and nonprofessionals alike who produce content that builds and educates the community. These rewards will be awarded in the form of FEED tokens that grant users a certain amount of leverage on the platform.
Let us pose a hypothetical situation:
Cryptojosh doesn’t work for a large corporation — nor does he work for any business associated with cryptocurrency. His opinions are his own, and he shares them with the community because he isn’t just a trader, but an enthusiast that wishes to contribute to the success of the space.
He is a Millennial, eager to promote the cryptocurrency principles and build a community of like-minded individuals of similar age. He is a part of the sharing generation that doesn’t look to hide success, and deeply believes in helping and informing others about new developments.
Cryptojosh has gathered a massive following on Twitter due to his insightful opinions on cryptocurrencies and the market. He is a seasoned speculator with an incredible track-record in terms of his predictions. He consistently writes sharp-witted opinions on trends in the market, but lacks the same amount of exposure that a larger company with available capital for ad-spend receives.
The content is as-good, if not better than the larger organization’s — but what does this mean for Cryptojosh?
Cryptojosh in this case is not only buried under a mountain of content on Twitter, but also isn’t rewarded for contributing rich information to the cryptocurrency community. He is in the background regardless of his large following due to paid placements outweighing his position. His Sisyphean task is never rewarded, and though his labor may give him the satisfaction of helping his followers, more must be done to benefit potential social juggernauts like Cryptojosh.
investFeed doesn’t just limit him to his personal feed or to 140 characters, but allows him to drop insights on specific cryptocurrency live feeds. He can also share his portfolio holdings, performance, and trade activity into the stream, which he can limit, depending on the volume of information he wishes to disclose.
investFeed’s FEED token will truly revolutionize his social media experience. Besides being an all-in-one platform for social networking, portfolio management, and order placement, investFeed will also reward Cryptojosh’s contributions to the platform in the form of FEED tokens. With his FEED tokens, he will be able to contribute premium content to the platform and charge viewers an access fee. He can now also share not just his knowledge, but portfolio performance and trade activity — which can be accessed by a fee that he sets based on a time-based subscription level or on a content piece by piece basis.
He can also now take his content earnings and put them right back into promoting his profile for network exposure. He will be able to boost his content by posting sponsored links or videos to attract the network to his contributions. With FEED tokens, the power to grow his following is back in his control, rather than in the hands of a biased algorithm.
He can even strategically use his FEED tokens to access higher levels of advanced trader tools that will be available on the platform. Once our advanced trader tools are released (as per our roadmap), he will have access to a technical analysis cryptocurrency screener tool, advanced portfolio analysis, robo-advisor algorithms, and back-testing tools for data analysis and quantitative trading strategies. The more FEED tokens he accumulates from his insights, the more he’ll be able to capitalize on the features that investFeed will have to offer.
Cryptojosh isn’t a black sheep — there are tons of individuals that wish to leave a positive impact with information.
The problem with modern social media platforms is the fact that the individuals who can truly make a difference are often left behind in favor of those with large ad spends. Users like Cryptojosh who wish to share helpful insights are buried, and given little to no incentive to continue their quest for transparency. investFeed wants to bring democracy to the cryptocurrency community, and provide a platform for the people — for the future.
*Note* — The account used in the hypothetical scenario is not a real account.
