ACTING CAREER Brenda Banda, a Los Angeles native, boasts over 15 years of acting and directing experience. She has honed her craft through training with renowned theatrical organizations such as Steppenwolf West, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and the Ruskin School of Acting. Brenda has delivered notable performances in significant roles, including “Jenny” in Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter (Off-Broadway), and “Auggie” in Melancholia. She is integral to The Vault Theatre Ensemble, recognized for its innovative productions, including a recent television pilot, showcasing her commitment to professional development.
Brenda’s acting journey commenced at Cerritos College, where she discovered her passion for theater. She co-founded and served as the inaugural Artistic Director of the Urban Theatre Movement (UTM), reflecting her dedication to pursuing purpose. Through UTM, she created compelling productions like Dog Sees God and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Brenda regards UTM as a close-knit family dedicated to authentically portraying urban life.
