When To Choose Spandex Fiber Clothing Over Natural Fiber Clothing?

A lot of people believe that natural fibers reign supreme when it comes to everyday use, as they are considered to be more breathable and soft. But the idea is only partially true. Imagine running a 5–10km run and perspiring. In such a scenario, however soft natural fibers might feel against the skin, they’ll end up getting soaked up in sweat. The moisture and salt would then rub and grate against the skin, causing chafing.

Though natural fibers are considerably more breathable in everyday life, they fail to perform well in high-moisture conditions. This is because they tend to hold on to fluids instead of releasing them in the air, which is unsuitable for activities that require physical activities and a lot of action.

To avoid this from happening, technical fabrics, like the ones infused with spandex fibers are developed. Such fabrics are easily permeable, allowing moisture to pass easily. They are engineered in such a way that moisture is pulled into the small spaces of the weave, which allows it to evaporate easily and help keep the body dry.

Activities that call for action, also call for the appropriate clothing. So the next time you think of buying tights for exercising, do give technical fiber a chance.
