SENSITIVE CONTENT WARNING: This section of the series pertains to miscarriage. The sensitive nature of this topic leads to feeling it is necessary to identify this topic at the beginning. Much of what is described here, could lengthen grief or retraumatize those who experienced this sad situation. I ask that you consider this before reading this section. There are other examples of Liminal State Abduction experiences in this paper. You can skip this section and still get the gist of it through the other sections.

Exploring Natural Though-Seeds During Pregnancy and Beyond

Upon conception, a woman’s body is already changing to prepare for the carrying and nurturing of the unborn child. This includes changes in the brain and neural pathways. Beyond that, there are neuropathic and psychological changes brought on by the anticipation of the birth of the child.

The onset of pregnancy triggers thoughts and daydreams of creating a larger and different family dynamic. This includes making space and time for a new infant, a vulnerable new addition to the family that requires protection, nurturing, and inclusive socialization. Daydreams of the yet-to-be-born child at different ages trigger thoughts of childhood friendships, scholastic achievements, sports, hobbies, and other social interactions. Questions of a different type begin to fill the thoughts of a pregnant mind: Is this world safe? What kind of life will my baby have? How will I protect him or her? How will I keep them safe?

The worldview begins to morph and take on a new, broader shape - not only for the mother but also for the expecting father. Attention is diverted from the self to the broader community. Suddenly, life matters. Environment matters. Social networking matters. The onset of preparenthood is riddled with wonder and fear. Despite the heavily negative bias against pre-expecting fathers, many go through a period of anxiety wondering how they will provide and develop a stronger sense of needing to become the provider and protector. Less talked about but just as realistic are the more global concerns about violence, environment, and socialization for their child to be.

Both parents (and other family members) enter a new perceptual reality. This larger reality includes exploring new social interactions, exploration of the community, and more interest in the state of condition on several scales from neighborhood to global. As the fetus develops and is born, these thought seeds have already been acted upon and made into reality. As the baby grows into a child, new social circles evolve, the tighter community develops, and worldviews to one degree or another incorporate a stronger sense of togetherness and a fierce obligation to provide and protect both child and greater family circles. This extends to the inner circle of friends as well.

After Effects

These views and newly developed beliefs, obligations, and fears don’t necessarily go away should a miscarriage be experienced. As with any seed that takes root, thought seeds establish a permanent space within the mind. In grief, there is a possible length of time when a person dives into rumination that ingrains the thoughts turning them into sorrow and longing. These hopes and fears can be triggered throughout the rest of a person’s life. They can mark possible birthdays, imagine their child walking off a bus in the neighborhood, and even identify the no more child’s school class, extracurricular teams, and so forth.

Here we should make a special note that expecting fathers and same-sex co-parents do have the same expectations and experience loss. This can be true of expecting fathers that are not taking an active role in parenting. One cannot know they are bringing a child into reality without some at least secondary thoughts no matter the level of involvement. Both the expectancy and the loss most likely do cause effects on the father and/or other co-parenting individuals.

It can be assumed the affected persons are forever changed psychologically now having a more permanent wonder and inquisitiveness of children, adolescent social involvement, and the community at large. Grief and trauma would fuel these thoughts and ponderings for a time and in many instances throughout the rest of their lives.

Why is This Important? If this is an intentional planting, it could be supposed that this phenomenon of abduction is intentionally instilling these thoughts and expanding a person’s view of society and the environment. What does this have to do with the liminal state abduction? Moving forward.

The Liminal State Baby Introduction

One of the common liminal state abduction/visitation experiences involves a person being introduced or reintroduced to their child. Often this child has a marked or noticeable hint of being a hybrid between human and alien. Every report about this situation suggests that the experience has a very absolute knowledge that the presented child, no matter at what age the child, is their blood child.

Now, there are reports from experiencers of this type of liminal state experience who have admitted a negative reaction when presented with the child or baby. However, the majority report a sense of connection. As we are exploring the possible intention of this type of event, let’s stick to the outcomes reported by the majority.

It only takes a brief moment to put 2 and 2 together in this situation. What do these excited fantasies of anticipation, the ruminations, and the introduction of a child thought miscarried come together to create? Typically it manifests a sense of extreme happiness upon reunion. The parent of the lost child develops a deep sense of connection to this child, all the preplanning fantasies they have longed to play through now have a chance again. Their sense of being a protector and a provider is reinstalled. With just one little addition.

This renewed chance to be parental includes the inclusion of the child’s other half of lineage. Throughout the multiple thought-seeds the person has rooted in their minds, the inclusion and adoption of these other beings set in, for the sake of their loved child. What could be the benefit of this?

Just the Facts, Please

I will not use the lens of positive or negative motives. This is more speculation on which this paper is focused. Here is to understand there could be other effects and intentions to these liminal state experiences that we can identify as plausible. So, what would the be?

The perceived inclusion of the second half of lineage opens a person to be more accepting of the Others. The sense of family can be stronger, the hopes and dreams for the child are rekindled, and honestly, this could increase the person’s desire to be more accepting of visitation or abduction experiences creating a friendly connection to the others.

In any regard, these are a few natural changes in a person that could stem from these experiences, whether they are real or not. As stated in the prior section, these experiences often feel “more real than real.” One only needs to think of their favorite meal to notice that they begin to salivate. This is because, to our mind, the meal is actually set before us, not restricted to the perception of time.

When one experiences this event, the mind may trigger and reinforce these established thought-seeds under the premise that they are happening regardless of the beliefs of the person or their logic. Instilling a greater sense of social inclusion, environmental concern, and community or global safety are but three highly valuable considerations to incorporate into a worldview. Could these experiences be geared toward just that?

Again, this is for the reader to decide. Bringing this possibility to my attention is where I stop and allow others to ponder the implications. I hope that this increases our understanding and belief that these experiences might have effects other than Trauma.

Next Up

We will continue this exploration of various liminal state abduction events in the next section. Our exploration leads us next to Liminal State Surgeries. Different outcomes from the variously perceived surgeries from operations on hands and phalanges to brain biopsies.
