JAKARTA — Antonius Simanjuntak, CEO of ION Network (right), presented a plaque of ION Enterprise (HSPNet) to First Admiral Benny Febri, M.M., M. Tr. Opsla, Head of the Indonesian Navy’s Communications and Electronics Service (left) on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Jakarta.

On this occasion, Anton and First Admiral Benny Febri conducted a Cooperation Agreement signing for the use, service, billing, and payment of the Indonesian Navy’s telecommunications services in 2024. With this synergistic collaboration, ION Network hopes to further strengthen the internet and telecommunications network within the Indonesian Navy through ION Enterprise (HSPNet).

In this regard, the Head of the Indonesian Navy’s Communications and Electronics Service conveyed several important points:

Cooperation Objectives

  • Facilitate the utilization of information and communication technology within the Indonesian Navy.
  • Provide reliable and secure internet telecommunications services for the Indonesian Navy’s operational and non-operational needs.

Scope of Cooperation

  • Provision of adequate internet telecommunications infrastructure in areas is determined by the Indonesian Navy.
  • Training and education for Indonesian Navy personnel regarding the use and security of information and communication technology.
  • Provision of internet services with speed and quality that meet the Indonesian Navy’s requirements.

Obligations of both parties

  • The Indonesian Navy will provide access and facilities necessary for the internet telecommunications company to build and operate telecommunications infrastructure in the designated areas.
  • The internet telecommunications company will provide reliable and secure internet services in accordance with the Indonesian Navy’s needs.

Strengthening National Security

  • The cooperation between the Indonesian Navy and telecommunications service providers is not only about protecting technological infrastructure but also strengthening defense and security against external threats that attempt to enter Indonesia’s sovereign waters. This is achieved through robust cyber defense technology to ensure national security.

The agreement between ION Network (PGD) and the Head of the Indonesian Navy’s Communications and Electronics Service aims to fulfill telecommunications services within the Indonesian Navy, thereby providing support for the implementation of national defense activities in the maritime sector optimally, effectively, and efficiently.

This collaboration is expected to be a positive step in ensuring the security and defense of the country in the maritime domain. It also supports the digital telecommunications infrastructure in the Indonesian Navy as a crucial foundation for national defense in the maritime sector, especially with the continuous development of digital technology.
