IOST Weekly Update — Week of February 5th, 2018
While it hasn’t been a pretty week for the markets, the IOST team is still incredibly confident on the longterm impact blockchain will have on the world. To paraphrase the Harvard Business Review, blockchain is not a disruptive technology, it is a foundational technology. We are building the infrastructure for a decentralized world and that doesn’t happen overnight.
Moving on, we have been hard at work all across the globe this week and are excited to announce a new advisor, Ken Huang! Dr. Huang has a nearly unparalleled depth of experience with blockchain technology. He served as the Chief Blockchain Scientist and Chief Identity Verification Architect at Huawei technologies and had previously worked at CGI. He currently works as the CEO and Founder of Distributed Business Applications in Virginia and is a frequent speaker at international blockchain conferences. We are truly excited to work with him and expect that his deep knowledge of blockchain technology will prove invaluable!
Our CEO Jimmy Zhong was in Tokyo this week taking meetings with investors, exchanges & potential new hires! We will be setting up a small team in Tokyo and are excited to collaborate more with the Japanese markets. Jimmy also met with our friends at Binance while we were in Tokyo and congratulated them on their impressive Forbes cover piece.
On the airdrop front, our Telegram and Twitter airdrops have been completed! We would like to thank the community for participating so enthusiastically. If you have not received your tokens, it is likely because we set up anti-spammer protections that flagged your account. We have dedicated tech team members going over the emails now and we will try to sort out any problems.
We were excited to be written about in Forbes and Yahoo this week and look forward to showing the world the possibilities that PoB and EDS offer. Keep an eye out for the first white board session video with our CTO Terrence Wang, which will be posted later this week. Lastly, we will be listed on a new exchange tomorrow.
