In the last few weeks we have seen an explosion of Shimmer Layer 1 tokens thanks to the feeless nature of the Shimmer Layer 1. Iotabee, as the first swap in the IOTA and Shimmer ecosystem, has the responsibility to provide the Shimmer token market place when the community needs it. Therefore we have listed and we are on the way of listing more tokens now.
Openness is key to success
Once the Shimmer EVM is launched, Iotabee DEX will be completely permissionless to list tokens and anyone could list any token. We believe openness is the key for the success of DeFi on Shimmer. Openness will encourage innovation. Openness to new layer 1 tokens will also show the power of feeless. As a Swap/DEX, Iotabee doesn’t have the right or expertise to decide which token is more superior to list. This is the right of the community. We could only be as open as we can to support the ecosystem as the token marketplace.
How to apply for listing
If you are listing a utility token, please make sure you have a website or white paper introducing your project or a working product already.
If you are listing a meme token, please make sure you have distributed your token well into the community or you have a community having the interest in the meme token.
You can reach out us for listing by contacting our discord admin in new-tokens channel. By providing a short list of information and a verification process inside Iotabee, your token will be able to be listed within 3–14 days (this might get longer when there are more tokens in line).
Potential risks
Because we cannot be both open and selective, openness is more of the key to the success of Shimmer ecosystem at this stage. Therefore, users will have to do their own research on the tokens they trade. As a market place, Iotabee will try to provide more information on the upcoming token page so that users will be able to check and verify the token they are trading. Iotabee will also try to provide more token information including analysis from 3rd party. Once the DEX is on, Iotabee will also explore and add more mechanism to help users verify the tokens.
