This trend is basically about replacing well-defined, single-purpose, discoverable UIs (forms, buttons) with vague, do-it-all, mysterious UIs (voice, text chat, gestures).
Designers love it because it just seems so elegant and minimalist, but I’m not sure the average user feels the same way.
