Islam is the religion of peace and harmony.. Muslims offer prayers in mosques five times a day. These prayers are called NAMAZ in Islam. Namaz is one of the pillars of Islam and also a direct link to Almighty Allah. In addition there will a question about Namaz at judgment day. In article we will roam around the world and have a glimpse of some mosques on the face of the globe.

Mosque (Masjid)

In Arabic Mosque is called Masjid. Mosque of Quba is considered to be the first masjid of islam made by Muslims. The bond between Muslims and Masjid is not only limited to Namaz and prayers.Other then that there are so many other activities are associated with Mosques for example recitation of the Quran Surahs, Public Preaching, Nikkah (Official Mariage status in Islam), Janazah (Islamic funeral). Let’s have a look of the different mosques of the world.

It is the largest mosque on earth and KABA is also located in this mosque. Muslims face in the direction of KABA while performing Namaz. KABA symbolizes that every Muslim worship one Allah. KABA is just a symbol, not even a single Muslim worship KABA. Coming back to Masjidil Haram, it can accommodate around 3 million followers during Hajj (Spiritual journey). In Masjidil Haram both men and women are allowed to offer their prayers together unlike other mosque of the world.

It is the second holiest mosque of for Muslims after Masjid Haram, it is situated in Madina. The most mentionable feature is Green Dome of the Mosque where the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is located. Therefore Masjid Nabwi is also known as prophet’s mosque.

The Blue Mosque Istanbul is a famous capital of Turkey. But Istanbul is also famous for its Blue Mosque originally called Sultan Ahmed Mosque. It is called Blue Mosques because of the Blue tiles used exquisitely on the exterior walls. It is made in just seven years from 1609–1616, constructed by sultan Ahmed I and now become a popular tourist attraction.

Grand Mosque of Kuwait

It is the largest and official mosques of Kuwait. It can hold up to 10,000 male worshipers in the main hall and around 1000 female worshipers in a separate hall. The famous reciter of Quran, Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy is the Imam of this mosque. Five level parking is also constructed in this mosque to facilitating the worshipers.

Faisal Mosque

Faisal mosque is located in the capital of Pakistan. It is completed in 1986. It was designed by Turkish architect, shaped like a desert tent. Traditional dome and arches are not used in its design for keeping it really simple. Faisal mosque is considered as iconic symbol of Islamabad throughout the world. It can accommodate more than 100000 worshipers in one gathering.
