Topic of the day: Nature and natural

I believe in our world and humanity, and that we can still save our planet, although we often see a lot of negative news of violence, diseases and natural disasters in various parts of the planet. The world has been quickly changing and our speed for adapting behaviours and how we live with what was given to us — the nature — is not following the same rate. But thinking deeply about how we are interconnected today and how this revolution is bringing every day new discussions and topics, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Travelling around the world gave me the chance to meet interesting people and understand their concerns and thoughts about our society, life and our interactions with nature. I’ve seen people working hard to create a better future for their community, inspiring the young generation to follow their paths. Many species lived on this planet but we, human beings, are the ones who has changed almost everything. Many places and societies were not reachable until less than 100 years ago. Now we have visited, exploited and connected almost every area.
The technology was the limitation in the past, and the more we evolve, the more we discover new resources and new uses for old materials that are extracted from our nature. The big question is how much nature can still sustain this uncontrolled exploitation. If we don’t rethink our consumption patterns and start to reduce, recycle and re-use the materials we have available, we may get in serious trouble.
Many fellow travelers I’ve met were concerned about these issues and how they affect and are affected by this entire chain of interactions. I saw people like me who are trying hard to change their behaviours and create a new way of living. They are gradually understanding that we need more natural people, not artificial people like the types we see in everyday media, which is manipulated by companies trying to sell unnecessary products and services.
If you are reading this article, I ask you to do your part, doesn’t matter if you are the only one around. Changes start like this, it’s a spark of idea that gains adepts and influences others around.
Raise your consciousness and start seeing the world as a huge organism where the main element is the nature. We are just part of it, but the most important at this age. We have the power to create, change, adapt, reinvent and do more than any other species.
So for this organism called earth, be a good cell, do what you can to help the other cells achieve the common goal: live in nature as natural beings.
