On Saturday 25th January 2020, we held the fourth ever Frontstack event in Lagos, Nigeria! Frontstack is a conference organised by myself, Ire Aderinokun, with the mission to grow the developer ecosystem by creating exposure to frontend technologies.
Each conference, we have a particular topic around which the talks and codelabs are based on. Our prior events were about Responsive Web Design, How to use APIs, and Writing Modern CSS. The topic of this conference was Media on the Web!
In this event we had seven sessions.
The first talk of the day was Serving Responsive Images in HTML led by Linda Ikechukwu. She covered how to use the HTML picture element, srcset and size attributes combined with the power of cloudinary, and showed how to render images that are adaptable to any viewing medium. …

After YC and fundraising, we had to come back to Nigeria and build a real company with a real office, real employees, and real responsibilities. …

In this event, we had four sessions by four amazing speakers, who covered all the shiny new features of CSS.
The first talk of the day was an introduction to modern CSS, led by Emmanuel Aina. He gave us a nice taste of everything relevant today from Flexbox to Grid to CSS Variables to Feature Queries and much much more. …
