Disappearing book shelf: very clever idea. Unlike a bookcase which takes a lot of space and hard to move, this shelf is portable and all you see is books.
Grand Central stair-less design: The designers of Grand Central had to solve the problem of how to provide for the movement of people into, out of, and through the building. There was an early proposal for using only stairways to connect the various levels, but it would result in congestion. The inclined ramps allow large numbers of people to move smoothly to and from their trains. And that is what we have today: broad sloping ramps, plus stairways and escalators, as well as underground passages to many nearby buildings.
Cleo and Patek handbag: very fashionable yet practical. It’s large enough to fit my dancing shoes or a bottle of wine, has pockets for business cards and my wallet and most importantly the outside pocket for my phone. It has really good weight distribution, doesn’t create too much pressure on my shoulders.
