The Case for a Global Cooperation on Identity

  • resilience against existential threat to a person’s state identity eg when a country has been invaded or annexed
  • choice and freedom – enabling the voluntary declaration of social mobility when stateless persons are resettled – while preserving their privacy (eg for Refugees, asylum seekers)
  • cyber security (ie reducing economic incentives for attack when identity and data are decentralised)
  • interaction with services across borders and in global markets
  • the evolution of the person becoming a micro SME without losing fundamental rights to privacy and protection
  • transparency of data flows between entities to view where value is created and to get a better understanding of data and trade flows to devise taxation mechanisms
