Hi Walter, I agree with you, design thinking is basically human-centered design. IDEO and Stanford have done an incredible service to all by bringing this way of solving problems to a community much broader than designers. I also credit them for championing an explicit phase of divergent thinking (ideation) that is different from convergent thinking (narrowing of ideas). Too often people brainstorm and edit at the same time, which can be counterproductive as each phase requires a different mindset.
