Indonesian culture is all national culture, local culture and culture of foreign origin that existed in Indonesia before Indonesia became independent in 1945. Indonesian culture can also be interpreted as meaning that Indonesia has various ethnic groups and diverse cultures such as regional dances, traditional clothing and houses.

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with more than 17,000 islands, and also has a population of 278.69 people (in mid-2023) which makes Indonesia the country with the 4th largest population in the world.

Traditional Indonesian tribal music generally uses percussion instruments, especially drums and gongs. Some developed into complex and diverse music, such as the sasando stringed instrument from Rote Island, the angklung from West Java, and the complex gamelan orchestral music from Java and Bali.

Indonesian dance reflects the richness and diversity of Indonesian ethnicity and culture. Usually dance functions to welcome guests, commemorate certain days or events or form religious rituals.
