Iris is a fully distributed company across four countries. We care deeply about people, love working on a product that has a positive impact on the world, and are eager to maximize technology to better understand and interact with personal health.

As an experience-driven company, we strongly believe in the role every team member plays. Our heads are continually together, making emergency situations less scary and more informed.

With that said, are you a rad designer looking for a side gig on a remote team, opportunities to challenge yourself, and change the world through health tech? If so, we’ve got great news — we’re looking for a designer!

What we’re building

Iris is your modern day emergency alert. Through hospital detection Iris connects you with your loved ones, and your health data with medical professionals, in the critical moment when you need it most and are mentally or physically unable to do so yourself.

As a designer on the Iris team, you play a major role in growing our product and design team. You’ll be an end-to-end product designer, working across platforms on creating core aspects of the product, new features, and improving existing ones. Your awesomeness will level-up our product quality through your day-to-day product design work across platforms.

In your role, you’ll influence the product roadmap and strategy through vision and collaboration with all areas of the team. You will work alongside our engineers to make sure we create the best experience and quality our users expect and will love. You will take ownership of the features you work on and see them through from start to “finish”.

You’ll bring…

  • End-to-end design skills (from ideation to full production and prototyping)
  • Understanding of design theory (typography, colors, grids, etc.)
  • Knowledge of coding HTML and CSS (Javascript would be lovely)
  • Understanding of designing for accessibility (big bonus points for any relevant experience)
  • Experience in a startup
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Team leading experience and/or an eagerness to do so
  • Ability to oversee and ensure quality output of design work
  • Self-learning, self-organization, and self-motivation
  • Doer and maker (You have shipped and enjoy working on side-projects)
  • Portfolio that showcases an array of mobile and web work showcasing your understanding of your craft

You must be:

  • Able to communicate in English
  • Okay with random tangents and GIFs in team chats ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  • A top-notch chef — this gig is remote, so you have to cook for yourself :)

Our design and engineering within the product, along with our ability to communicate are crucial to our success as a product and company. We equally love what we do and respect each others disciplines as if they were our own.

We’re still in the baby phase, but here is where the foundation of the product happens, so come leave your mark.

You can apply for the position by visiting our job posting on AngelList ✌️. We can’t wait to meet you!

💙 Team Iris
