Dutch Summer School. Problem district
After three-days intensive workshop the pause came — one-day workshop. Generally, all workshops took place in different spaces, but in the borders of one street — ‘culture artery’ of Rotterdam Witte de Withstraat. But this time we had to go, my gosh, to the ‘Problem District’.
Well, I guessed that ‘problem districts’ in Rotterdam an’t equal to ‘South Butovo’ in Moscow. But I expected something more brutal.

We arrived not just to ‘problem district’, but to the social organisation that studies this district and works to build communication within. It’s interesting but deserve the separate story.
We watched the presentation and got the task: come up with idea how to make better the recognition of this organisation. Any other ideas was accepted as well. Breath-taking freedom.

Either we were inebriated by this freedom or by team-work, but ideas weren’t coming. We seated in a circle and everyone stared on the white walls. Sometimes one of us said: I dunno… I mean… You know… and then something nonsensical. Boring! By and large I realised that day I can’t bear team-work, it’s ineffective and nonproductive. The day passed in this way. In the end we created something banal, made a presentation, applauded but didn’t say goodbye.
