My three secrets to accelerate fat loss

A few years ago I would have done anything to lose weight. From starving myself to taking all kinds of wonder pills, I wanted quick results. Emphasise here on quick results, even if it was at the cost of my own health. And trust me… when the time comes… and you have to make a choice, your health will always win.

Burning fat is not as simple as it sounds. Eating an apple today and be 1 lbs less tomorrow, doesn’t mean you burn fat, probably lost water and now you are dehydrated too. There is this rush is doing everything nowadays. Well some processes, like burning fat, take longer. And actually the longer it takes the healthier it is and longer those results will last.

I know…you have a wedding in less than a month who cares about that body after that? You gotta be able to breath in that dress, most likely you are returning to take away after that anyway, so you don’t care.

My number one secret to you is change your mindset. Choose healthy and strong over weak and unhappy. Understand the mechanics of burning fat and make an informed choice. Forget about the big companies selling you shit, telling you that is the only way to achieve the dream body. Nothing good comes for free in life. Work your arse for it.

Your body is the most precious tool you have. Forget about people, society and their stupid standards. Think of yourself. Think what makes you happy. Think of yourself dehydrated, hungry, weak, unfit, as you have felt times before… and now see yourself fit, healthy, strong, with increased stamina, eating carbs and having a social life.

Secret number two is enjoy the journey forget about the destination. The worst thing you could do after deciding to burn fat is to impose a deadline on you. Now you are doing something new, something you haven’t tried before. You don’t know how your body will react and how slowly or quickly will burn that extra fat. Plus the new you is not forcing her body into any extreme diet or work out, so the new approach fits perfectly in your lifestyle. It allows you a social life and little culinary treats, without feeling guilty or regressing.

So don’t worry about the destination. As long as you put the work in, you will Achieve your goal.

And my number three secret is find what works for you. If you want to make it long lasting and enjoyable it has to fit in your hectic life. Parents will never have the same amount of time to invest in their training like a 20 year old, with no responsibilities. It is not an excuse do to nothing and watch telly, but it requires smart choices. So as long as you adopt a program, training sessions and nutritional plan that blends in with your chaotic life, it is more likely for you to stick to it. Accept your reality and do your best under your circumstances.
