I like money. The Bible says we shouldn't love it. It is a good way to deal with it. Love is very emotional and psychological. I wouldn't want to fall in love with money. I love women. Don't judge me. It is natural. God who created me approves it. It feels like I'm justifying, maybe I am. Oh! Back to money.
Most of us were raised by parents of modest means. Our parents didn't have much money. Maybe their parents also. So, we have a genelogy of people who worked very hard for money and they didn't have enough of it. That is not bad. The thing is, we now make money to be the ultimate goal of our existence. We chase it instead of attracting it. It makes sense to an extent : we follow the patterns of our family.
My mom works very hard. My dad worked very hard. I am on the pipeline. The difference however is the psychology which they applied and I apply. They wanted to get money to just feed their family and themselves. I want money for me then give it away. Furthermore, my parents didn't understand the laws which rules money or maybe they did but they didn't apply them or maybe the conditions they lived in wasn't condusive for them or maybe I'm just being stupid. Whatever the conditions, we can do something. They worked so that I can go to school and get a good job. It was a good thing but the world changes very fast. We will be stupid grannies. Trust me.
If you grew up without seeing or having money around you, it becomes a great feeling when you have it. The feeling doesn't last very long. But it is good though. The happiness of getting money is always followed by the anxiety of losing it. And most of us are scared of losing money because we are not so much skilled in the acquisition thereforeof. We can blame the system. We can blame the past or we can learn. We want the money but we want to outsource the learning. It doesn't work. You have to be your best financial advisor. If someone advices you and you lose the money, they learn while you cry.
Money is a tool. Sometimes a tool breaks. A tool goes missing. We can get another tool and we can continue with the task. The key thing is not the tool but what we want to accomplish with it. I have lost money. I will lose money. I am not stupid or careless. That's how the game is played. It is better for more to lose X amount when I am 23 years old than when I'm 80 years and lose billions. It wouldn't matter but it is horrible. I can live in any condition at the moment. I can't be shocked or embarrassed being homeless or not have food, there are dustbins. Seneca says the time to practice poverty is when you have abundance. I lost all stuff. I was trying to be depressed. It doesn't work. It feels like I am no longer a human being.
You are going to make lot of money and you are going to lose it. The money you use to buy a phone is the same money you use to buy airtime.
Money is a tool. Don't be emotional about it. You invest to improve the quality of your life not to make more money. Should we have more ? Yes. But having more in order to be happy is selling your short.
