Community had many discussions/debates in slack channel already but love to share again.

The design of $MUSIC is to enable paired micro-relationship between musicians and listeners. It’s why PPP was introduced as it can record these relationship along the growth of blockchain. It’s the base of Musicoin Project.

Upon the adoption of PPP, $MUSIC is going to install a new scheme called UBI(Universal Basic Income) to enable even bigger leap to rock the industry. Under this scheme, users won’t even need to pay for music listening, every PPP will get from UBI pool generated by mining process into each block.

So if “music playback” is free, where comes incentives people would go to buy $MUSIC? The fact is music listening can be free, but users will do more things around it, tipping, collecting, commenting, playlist, grouping, crowdfunding, ticketing, etc. All these activities will be stimulated by “free listening” and multiply themselves based on sentimental connections with well designed UX. The platform would foster many-to-many relationship and transactions all based on enjoying “free music”.

Many people have been accustomed to pay-wall system even started to enjoy that cage with cold UI isolating musicians from listeners, and don’t know it’s just Stockholm Syndrome. It’s why there are only 100M streaming service subscribers all around the world after one decade of struggling, with huge backslash from starving musicians just because the model is not sustainable.
