Just data from the govt. about world wide deaths related to Aids.
AIDS Diagnoses and Deaths
In 2015, 18,303 people were diagnosed with AIDS. Since the epidemic began in the early 1980s, 1,216,917 people have been diagnosed with AIDS.
In 2014, there were 12,333 deaths (due to any cause) of people with diagnosed HIV infection ever classified as AIDS, and 6,721 deaths were attributed directly to HIV.
The numbers are really small compared to almost any major disease. It’s sad and terrible to lose anyone but the amount of effort needed for this disease is pretty small.
- Gay and bisexual men accounted for 82% (26,375) of HIV diagnoses among males and 67% of all diagnoses.
This is a disease based on bad hygiene and totally poor behavior. Why should massive resources be put to it when better self practices will virtually eliminate the problem?
It sounds cruel but true, We aren’t in the 80s where no one knew.
