I don’t think it helps to ask how useful or realistic something is “for people”. It only matters how useful or realistic it is for you. After all, you can’t control people, you can only control you.
If an approach works for you, do it.
Same goes for entrepreneurship. It doesn’t matter what might happen if every single person tried to start a company at once, or if opportunities somehow dried up, or if someone else made something just like what you want to make. (FWIW, None of those things are true anyway. Opportunity begets more. Creation begets creation. More entrepreneurship creates opportunity for even more entrepreneurship, not less. There’s no fixed pie of total available startups!)
Those are all out of your control.
If you have an idea, start building it. If you have a path to a more leveraged career, start bushwhacking it!
