5 Key Considerations Before Implementing Real-Time Video Analytics

Video analytics, also known as video content analysis, employs artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to automatically recognize temporal and spatial events in video footage. ‘Temporal’ refers to time, while ‘spatial’ refers to objects. We shall discuss more about both later on.

Real-time video analytics capability is not just about recording footage for later review or analysis; it is about actively detecting and categorizing objects, behavior, or events as they occur, without any need for human intervention. This real-time analysis can be incredibly powerful and has applications in diverse areas such as security and surveillance, sports analytics, traffic control, and compliance monitoring in factories, among others.
