It’s funny how our society has been structured like this, but at the same time I can understand. Men have always had the physical strength and in that alone is where I believe we wield power. Generations after generations of young boys are taught that I’d they are not strong, gregarious, a natural leader, or aggressive then they are not a man. We don’t need a textbook to teach us that men have a assumed the dominant role while woman the submissive role in society. This has been reflected in the way we respond to rejection. So what would my conclusion be? Teach our boys that it’s ok if they are not strong, gregarious, aggressive or a natural leader. Tell them that it’s ok to be smart and compassionate. Tell them it’s ok to bring a girl flowers. Teach them to stand up for a girl instead of joining in with his buddies even tho it may mean that they will be ridiculed for it. Build a generation of boys, excuse me, of men, that will end the insane double standards that have been built across gender lines.
