A president’s legacy resides within a few byproducts of the presidency. Economic welfare, sure. Debt, more nominal. Strengthened sense of nationalism, national security, and environmental health to name a few. However, most impressionable on history is the Supreme Court precedents established under a president’s term. While the Supreme Court is intended to be an independent body, the president’s selection of a justice can greatly dictate the outcome of court cases, and leave behind a legacy.
