The Healthy Way to Use Alfredo Sauce

Got half a jar of Alfredo sauce and not sure how to use it? Not enough sauce for a whole batch, but you need to use up leftovers? Or maybe you’re craving fettuccine Alfredo, but don’t want the guilt of eating a meal that’s all carbs and dairy. Look no further.

I have the ultimate Alfredo recipe that’s perfect for cozy winter nights, and provides a well-rounded meal.

Introducing: Whole Wheat Pumpkin Alfredo

This recipe balances the delicious flavor of Alfredo sauce, with vitamin-packed vegetables like pumpkin and spinach. Whole wheat pasta gives you a boost of fiber, and plays well with the earthy flavors of the sauce. Add a little seasoning, and you’ve entered a whole new realm of deliciousness.

The whole dish can be prepared in the time it takes to cook the pasta, and the total cost comes up to about $3.50. Cheap. Easy. Healthy. Delicious. What more could you want?

Ingredients:

8 oz. Whole Wheat Pasta (any shape)
3 Tbsp. Butter or Margarine
1 c. Fresh Spinach
7 oz. Pumpkin Puree ( About half a can)
5–8 oz. Alfredo Sauce (About half to a third of the jar)
Italian Seasoning to taste
Onion Powder to taste
Garlic Powder to taste
