Response: I love the backstory of your PC building experience. I did an article similar to this for a college class, and am responding to this for the same class. The reason I loved this particular article is because it dived into older hardware that I was unfortunately not around to see during its early stages of development.
I ever get into software engineering or anything along those lines, I would absolutely love to make a blast to the past little pi machine or something like that. Maybe something even good enough to run Oregon Trail. I may only be eighteen years of age;… but come… who hasn’t played Oregon Trail?
Also if you ever do get a chance to read this response, would you be able to let me know what it was like a little more in depth growing up with a new era of technology. It absolutely fascinates me how far computers have come in under one-hundred years. It is absolutely astonishing what we as innovators and originators have been able to accomplish with computers thus far, with no end in sight.
Anyway, thank you for the article. One of my more favorite reads so far. I can’t state how much of an experience reading this was for an enthusiast. It makes me wish I could grow up back when the technology was invented and just a better foundation understanding of the development of the technology.
