“Remember that one day you must day” or simply Memento Mori is an ancient latin saying that will help you savor every day and enjoy the little things in life.

We all know that one day we must die, it’s obvious. But during our life we don’t really notice it. If we are too young we think that there is still a lot of time left, and if we are too old we think that we have too little time left.

Memento Mori brings to us the awareness of a reality: that one day we must die, regardless of the time we have left. This can help you in different ways.

Firstly it puts you into action. Often, when I’m thoughtful about something, or when I don’t know if it’s worth doing it, I say to myself this saying. It helps me recognize that I will not have the same opportunity in the future and that it’s worth it doing it even if I’m not that sure. Here also comes the famous saying “Just do it”.

What I’m saying is that when you have to make a choice or when you have an opportunity, think about it, about the risks and all, but don’t think too much. It’s useless to overthink, just do it because someday you must die.

I’m not saying that you can do whatever you want in your life because there are limits and rules you should respect. What I’m saying is to enjoy your life, both happy and sad moments, and to do what you truly love, taking every opportunity as an experience. Be just a little bit risky because you’ll never be sure about something, you don’t know the future.

Just do it and if it’ll will not be useful, it doesn’t matter, it will be always a lesson for your life and you won’t feel guilty that you didn’t do it.

With that in mind, we can say this:

Memento Mori, si vis vitam, Para mortem

If you want to live, remember that someday you must die.

This means that if we want to live we have to accept death as a part of life.

Don’t waste your life. Spend your time doing the things you love, so it will be worth the shot.

This saying is a reminder to live your best life, to not waste any minute , to do what you love and to always be yourself.

Make your life the the best you can imagine. You only live and die once.
