Yuck-Get Away

Something new, with a little bit of something old.

Yuck is an Indie-Rock band out of Britain that has that familiar taste of the Cure mixed in with a bit of The Smiths. They are one of my favorite bands at the moment because they seem to be able to capture the sound of the 90's with the heart of current up and comers. Though this band has already “made it” in the indie-verse, they recently lost lead singer and front man, Daniel Blumberg to his new project Hebronix. Nevertheless, Yuck’s first self titled album is fantastic and their sophomore album isn't half bad either. “Get Away” is their most popular song next to “The Wall”. It has an amazing, yet simplistic bass riff and the guitars play off each other perfectly. Combine that with Blumberg’s scratchy yet dynamic vocals and you get a song that makes your foot tap and hands drum.
