Make a happy choice!
Self pity is the most destructive thing one can do to her/himself. They tend to play the role of a victim and slowly drift away from reality. They refuse to learn from their mistakes and there is always an aura of self-created illness around them, that anybody could feel.
I would be the last person to say crying is waste of time. Crying, being sad or getting angry are the ways one can release stress, let out and feel lighter from within. But we should not let our sorrows consume us.
Milton’s famous saying, “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.”
The life may not give you everything you wished for. Sometimes you fight for what you want and make it happen. You can also forget and move on but it is easier said than done. Why is our life meaningless if we are not able to fight or forget?
We do not have to run away from something or forget it to be happy, we always have a choice to walk the path with our losses and failure. One can always talk about failure to relearn the lesson, cherish a memory to re-live the past.
It’s important to not only appreciate your possessions but also the things you do not have.
