STARS
Huddled in a group, he showed her the shooting star. “Damn! You should’ve pointed earlier!”, she exclaimed, in half anger and half disappointment.
He promised himself that he’ll tell her how he feels about her, if another one comes by.
The clock ticked by, steadily depriving everyone of the hope of another sighting. “Let’s go”, she said after everyone had given up and left.
Not him, though.
“Not yet, there will be another one tonight.”
“Yeah rii…
“Look there!”
“Where? What? OMG !!! Shooting star!!!” she turned around to see him making a wish with his eyes closed.
“Damn! Why didn’t I think of making a wish!!??”
“Because I made one for the both of us”, he said staring into her eyes and leaning in to kiss her on the lips.
The stars had conspired to bring them together that day.
Today, though they were not that generous. Their respective stars’ alignment was apparently the reason they could not be with each other, forever.
