The sports cards industry has recently boomed and newcomers are wondering which players would be the best to invest in. I’m here to tell you who to invest in and what specific cards you should keep an eye out for.

1. Franz Wagner

The Orlando Magic are in the rebuilding phase and have acquired many young assets, one of them being Franz Wagner. He is likely the only player on the team that is considered untouchable which shows his greatness at such a young age. Wagner’s card prices were at a peak when he was drafted, but have slowly dipped since (from $35 to $28 for BGS 9.5) which is why it’s the perfect time to invest in Franz’s sports cards.

2. Patrick Williams

Patrick Williams [Silver Prizm] #288 2020 Panini Prizm

Patrick Williams has been heavily underrated throughout his career. Despite being drafted high at 4th overall he has been heavily overshadowed by the likes of Lamelo Ball and Anthony Edwards. Williams is a great defensive player and possibly in a few years we may seem win the Defensive Player of the Year Award. His card prices have also shot down by about 75% since April 2021.

3. Nassir Little

Similarly to Patrick Williams, Nassir Little excels primarily on the defensive side of the ball. Ever since being drafted the Trailblazers, Little has been improving each and every year. With Portland likely to sign a big free agent this summer, along with the return of Damian Lillard, Nassir Little will finally receive more of the spotlight. Don’t be surprised if he makes and All-Defensive team next year.

4. Talen Horton-Tucker

Due to playing for a big market franchise like the Lakers, Talen Horton-Tucker has received lots of backlash and praise. Just a few months ago, fans were clamoring that he was “next in line”, but now all the hype has seemed to die. This trend is also reflected in his card prices, with a BGS 9 version of the card shown above peaking at $395 in December of 2021, but now currently being only $45. If Horton-Tucker is ever to be traded, which isn’t unlikely, I am sure that he would excel.

5. Brandon Ingram

Brandon Ingram is already one of the best scorers in the NBA, with his offensive game having no weaknesses. His lackluster surrounding cast is the only reason that he isn’t ranked among the top in the league. However, with the return of Zion Williamson next year I see this Pelicans team making a dark horse playoff run. Now is the best time to buy a Brandon Ingram card because the PSA 10 version has fallen over $100 in the past year. Ingram has a great chance to make an All-NBA team next year which cause his card prices to skyrocket.
