CBD oil is being used for more than just treating anxiety and other health issues in humans. CBD oil for dogs is now proving to be a wonderous and natural way of aiding your dog's aches and pains.

I used CBD oil to help treat my dog's anxiety, as I read more and more into it though, it can treat so much more than that.

CBD (cannabidiol), is a compound found within Cannabis and Hemp plants. It is one of many. The way it works is, within our own bodies we have our own endocannabinoid systems.

Don’t worry though. It isn’t going to get your puppy high! CBD supplements contain no THC (the compound which makes you high) and CBD is legal across the US in all 50 states and most countries around the world.

When we ingest CBD it reacts with the CBD system within us which gives us the effects we feel, less pain, less anxiety etc. The truth is we are actually still studying the way CBD does this.

The great thing is though, CBD works the same for dogs as it does for humans. As CBD becomes more and more popular though it is important to make sure you buy your CBD from a reputable company.

With the rise in CBD being used for pets, there are obviously going to be people out there who will try to exploit this.

Make sure you only buy CBD products which have been made specifically for dogs. It should be;

  • Lab tested
  • Contain no GMO’s or Soy
  • 100% Natural

CBD for dogs has been shown to help with;

  • Seizures in dogs
  • Relieving pain in dogs
  • Boosting appetite
  • Reducing anxiety and fear
  • Preventing and Fighting Cancer (Study)
  • Nerve related pain
  • Inflammation
  • Pain
  • Heart health
  • Chronic pain
  • Tumors

Veterinarians have also found CBD products to be beneficial in the therapeutic aid of acute ailments like torn ligaments, strains, and sprains, as well as bone breaks. CBD has also been proven beneficial in the provision of post-operative care in the reduction of pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Many pet owners have reported the benefits of CBD in improving the symptoms of chronic conditions in pets. These include compromised immune systems, arthritis, aggression, digestive issues, and stress responses. Currently, there are studies that are being conducted to establish the effectiveness of CBD in the therapeutic aid of rare health conditions.

For most of us, as pet owners, we only want the best for our pets. But there is a chance we will feel the sting of heartache as our dogs are more susceptible to falling ill than we are.

I hated using anti-anxiety medication for Roxy, CBD oil does the exact same thing but it is entirely natural. CBD has been shown numerous times over to help with anxiety.

CBD oil has been shown to relieve chronic pain in pets and humans. Supplementing with CBD oil dog treats and oils can help your dog live a fuller more pain-free life.

The best way to add CBD to your dogs' diet is through oil. With CBD oil you can easily just squeeze a few drops into your dogs' food and happily watch them chew away at it.

Honest Paws CBD oil for dogs is one of the highest rated suppliers of CBD products for dogs. I used two drops a day for my Alsation and it helped tremendously with her social anxiety

I have to say that it did work wonders, and I will also add I used CBD treats from them as well which were a nice tasty addition which Roxy loved. Typically the amount of CBD you give your dog will vary by their weight.

CBD oil for pets comes in a glass bottle with a dropper so measuring out the required dose is quite easy. If your dog is brave enough you can drop it straight into their mouth!

Most producers mention on their website how much to give your dogs. The average recommendation of how much CBD to give your dog is 1–5mg of CBD for every 10lbs of weight.

A great thing about using CBD for dogs though is that is is very safe. It is a naturally occurring compound and there have been very few reports off any side effects apart from;

  • Dry mouth

Most vets will recommend that you start with a very low dose and build your way up. That was your doggy will get used to it and any side effects will show up in a small way.

It is a great time to be alive when there are so many alternatives to harsh medications, especially for our pets. Knowing your best friend isn’t too well is a horrible feeling.

As most dog owners would, I will do anything to make sure my Roxy gets the best of everything! Please remember it is always a good idea to get an opinion from your Veterinarian before using any medications.

Would be great to hear how you used CBD oil for your pets in the comments?
